Product Introduction\\ nThe new model of the “MANASLU,” a top-tier model in the authentic outdoor gear “Protrek” series, inspired by the 8,163m peak ‘Manaslu’ (also known as the “Mountain of Spirits”), where a Japanese team achieved the world's first successful summit in 1956, is now available. This model features DLC hardening treatment applied not only to the bezel but also to the band, crown, buttons, and case back, enhancing wear resistance. Furthermore, key metal components (outer bezel, band, case back) utilize titanium material, achieving both strength and lightness. The base model PRX-8000 was developed incorporating extensive advice from PRO TREK Ambassador Hirotake Takeuchi, the only Japanese person to have conquered all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks. In the harsh conditions of an 8000m peak ascent, time and measurement data become the most critical information. Therefore, the black dial features large, easy-to-read white indices and hands. Other markings are deliberately placed and colored to be less conspicuous, making it easier to grasp the time and measurement data on the LCD. To ensure time recognition even in low-oxygen conditions causing drowsiness or during severe weather, the 12 o'clock index features a distinctive shape, and an arrow is engraved at the band attachment point. Furthermore, the hour and minute hands are enlarged using carbon material and feature different shapes, while the indices receive a double luminescent coating. This enhances nighttime time recognition, supporting activities in extreme conditions. The band features a double-lock, one-push, triple-fold clasp with an adjustment mechanism. This allows for easy length adjustment of up to approximately 6mm without special tools, enabling wear over inner gloves. The range of motion in the joint connecting the band and case has been increased for easier attachment and removal. The crystal uses scratch-resistant, highly visible sapphire glass, combining functionality with a premium feel.
