Based on the MTG-B2000, which combines a monocoque case made of carbon fiber reinforced resin with metal materials, this model further reduces weight by incorporating carbon material into the bezel parts. The carbon bezel is formed by layering carbon fiber sheets and glass fiber sheets, creating a plate-like base material through heat pressing, which is then machined into shape. For the MTG-B2000YBD, the bezel frame on the watch's side has been changed to carbon material. Compared to stainless steel, this significantly reduces weight, achieving approximately a 77% weight reduction for the bezel frame. The topmost carbon sheet layer of the bezel frame is reinforced by overlapping and wrapping around the sides at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions. The lugs are reinforced by wrapping carbon sheets around them in a tubular shape. The glass fiber layer incorporates G-SHOCK's brand color, red, as an accent. Furthermore, the watch adopts a “Layer Composite Band” that allows for band replacement, successfully enhancing the metallic feel while reducing weight. Functionally, Bluetooth® connectivity links to the dedicated “G-SHOCK Connected” app for time information acquisition.
