Osaka Castle's main tower was reconstructed on November 7, 1931 (Showa 6), as a five-tiered, eight-story reinforced concrete structure, funded by donations from Osaka citizens. Its design referenced the “Osaka Summer Campaign Screen” and materials from the Toyotomi era. \
The white plaster walls from the first to fourth stories reflect the Tokugawa period, while the fifth-story watchtower features the Toyotomi-era design with its luxurious gold decorations of cranes and fierce tigers. (Registered Tangible Cultural Property, 1997) \
It was a concentric flatland castle (with concentric baileys centered on the main bailey, separated by moats). The Toyotomi keep was a composite structure, while the Tokugawa keep was an independent structure. \
The present castle was rebuilt on the embankments of the Toyotomi clan's Osaka Castle as the Tokugawa clan's Osaka Castle. The historically third-generation reconstructed keep stands atop the stone foundation of the Tokugawa keep, shining brightly as a symbol of Osaka. \
