Perfect for character models and SF mecha: ‘GOOD MARK DECALS’. Introducing the “Weathering Decals” series—easily recreate battle damage and aging effects with decals. While free-scale, these decals are designed for use on models ranging from 1/144 scale to 1/32 scale equivalents. They can be used widely on everything from character kits to aircraft and AFVs.
Peeling paint, scratches, mud splatter, oil splatter, and rust are already reproduced in “cool, atmospheric shapes”.
Just apply them to the areas you want to dirty up.
As “Tomorrow's Decals” that allow peeling off the clear layer after drying, there's no reflection or raised edges typical of decals. Only “clean dirt” is reproduced on your model.
“Light Chipping” decals are designed for easily recreating minor paint loss from impacts or aging, known as “chipping.”
The chipping marks are based on actual paint loss seen on aircraft, allowing for realistic damage effects.
Depending on the color, you can also create situations where chipped areas rust or accumulate mud. Each mark is generally symmetrical left-right, and some marks also feature near-symmetrical upper-lower damage patterns. Three color patterns are available: Light Gunmetal, Gray, and Red Gray. Light Gunmetal is ideal for depicting relatively new scratches or paint peeling. Gray suits depicting oxidized, dulled metal surfaces. Red Gray suits depicting oxidized metal surfaces containing rust. Each mark is beautifully printed via silk screen. The metallic colors, in particular, eliminate the uneven particle texture often seen when painting with a brush, allowing you to enjoy a sparkling reflection on the model surface. While each mark can be used alone for weathering effects, combining them with other weathering decals, line decals, caution decals, or number decals expands your expressive possibilities. These decals are “Ashita Decals,” where the transparent backing can be peeled off after drying. They achieve a finish similar to photo-etched parts but allow for multicolor printing and positioning like standard water-slide decals. There's no unnatural reflection from the decal's transparent layer, resulting in a look just like real painted marks.
