The USS Missouri (BB-63) is the third ship of the Iowa-class battleships. Named after the 24th state of the United States, it is the fourth ship to bear this name. \
It was christened by Margaret Truman, daughter of then-President Harry S. Truman, a native of Missouri.\
Launched in 1944, the Missouri was the 63rd and final battleship built for the U.S. Navy. It saw action in World War II, including the Battle of Okinawa, and on September 2, 1945, the Japanese surrender documents were signed aboard her deck. \
After the war, it saw action in the Korean War of the 1950s before being decommissioned in 1955. It was recommissioned in 1986, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons and electronics including BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles, Harpoon missiles, and the Phalanx CIWS. \
After participating in the 1991 Gulf War, it was decommissioned in 1992 and has been preserved as a memorial ship at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, since 1999.\
This kit is the VFM350909 “Easy Version,”\
which includes 4 etching sheets, brass turned parts (main gun barrel/127mm gun barrel), and a wooden deck. \
