SP31 Special Stainless Steel Inner Cable for Brakes The definitive next-generation slick stainless steel inner cable. Flexibility While standard inner cables are constructed by twisting together 19 strands, this product is made from 31 strands. This provides greater suppleness and flexibility than conventional products, making installation easier in tight handlebar routing situations like those common today. It also results in lighter handlebar operation. Durability: The tighter braiding reduces elongation and provides superior load-bearing capacity compared to conventional cables. Pre-tensioned processing (applies force beforehand to suppress initial elongation and minimize post-installation stretch) is applied. Low Friction (Light Pull): The cable surface undergoes slick processing to achieve near-perfect roundness, followed by a special coating (electroplated coating). This results in lower friction than simple slick processing or PTFE (Teflon) coating. The coating is also highly resistant to peeling, ensuring the smooth pull persists over the long term. We believe this is the best inner cable we currently offer.
