SP31 Special Stainless Inner Cable for Brakes The definitive next-generation slick stainless inner cable. Flexibility: While standard inner cables are constructed by twisting together 19 strands, this product is made from 31 strands. This provides greater suppleness and flexibility than conventional products, making installation easier in tight handlebar routing situations. It also results in lighter handlebar operation. Durability: Tighter stranding than conventional cables reduces elongation and provides superior load-bearing capacity. Pre-tensioned (processed to apply initial tension, suppressing elongation after installation). Low Friction (Light Pull) The cable surface undergoes a slick finish to achieve near-perfect roundness, followed by a special coating (electroplated coating). This results in lower friction than cables with only a slick finish or PTFE (Teflon) coating. The coating is also highly resistant to peeling, ensuring the light pull sensation lasts for a long time.
