Description
Kotobukiya - Definition Armor - Blaze Bore - Height: Approximately 135mm Product Description
The "Definition Armor" concept, which aimed to miniaturize the successful Bulkarm α, a humanoid bipedal heavy Hexa Gear, while extracting and simplifying elements of the renowned Scarecrow, a masterpiece light Hexa Gear, and reconstructing it into a form worn by the pilot, was a fusion of the two successful examples, and was expected to be a powerful, lightweight, and highly mobile exoskeleton for infantry. However, the advance prototype deployed in combat testing was overloaded with many elements and completely lacked balance, earning it the dishonorable reputation of being the "latest walking coffin." Aiming for practical application while maintaining its only valued feature, mass production, various modification plans were considered based on narrowed specifications. Of these, the plan that made it into production was the Woodpecker, which emphasized high-speed, maneuverable combat by taking advantage of its light weight, while the Blazebore resulted purely from the original goal of miniaturizing the bulkarm.
The core components of the Blazebore are almost identical to those of the Woodpecker, developed at the same time, but the sensor in the upper center of the fuselage has been adapted to provide a wide field of view to the left and right, partly to compensate for the reduced maneuverability. The walking legs also serve as protection for the Governor's lower body, and the working limbs are equipped with side armor that can be used to operate heavy weapons. A smaller, lower-powered thruster was selected than the Woodpecker, due to the reduced load on the unit and the premise of walking combat in cooperation with infantry. In addition to the master-slave control system, the G2AI is assisted by feedback from the BMI installed on the Warmage, which is standard equipment on board governors, ensuring reliable aircraft and fire control.
The Blazebore was born in this way, a realistic revision of the specifications originally intended for Definition Armor. Its characteristics are best suited for operations in closer cooperation with infantry units, such as providing fire support by carrying heavy artillery in narrow terrain such as valleys and urban streets that are inaccessible to larger Hexa Gears, and for sweeping operations by acting as a shield in front of infantry.
As its name suggests, its never-ending march with its red-hot shield has burned into the eyes of many soldiers, earning it trust worth many times over.
