Description
Tamiya - Mini 4WD PRO Series - No. 41 - Shooting Proud Star - MA Chassis
Product Introduction\
\
A plastic model assembly kit for a high-performance racer equipped with a double shaft motor. The Shooting Proud Star is the beloved car of Minami Shinkuro, a character from the manga “Hyper Dash. Shikuro” serialized in Shogakukan's “Corocoro Aniki”. The manga's author, Hiroyuki Takei, who designed this machine, actually has a background where a design he submitted to a Mini 4WD design contest in middle school won an award. That design became Shinkuro's beloved car, the first-generation Dash No. 3 Shooting Star. The Shooting Proud Star was born using the style of that machine as its motif. Its most striking feature is the prominent air intake protruding from the top of the canopy. The side air intakes and long canopy also give it an even sharper finish. Its appeal lies in the meticulously detailed shape, down to the four damper units front and rear and the brake lights at the rear edge of the wing. The chassis is the MA, featuring a double-shaft motor for optimized drive efficiency. Large-diameter, four-spoke white wheels are fitted with slick tires. MA stands for Midship AERO. It combines the strengths of two chassis: the “MS Chassis,” a midship layout with a double-shaft motor mounted centrally, and the “AR Chassis,” specifically designed with aerodynamics (airflow) in mind during running. The MA Chassis combines the best features of both into a single chassis. Naturally, leveraging accumulated racing know-how, it features thoroughly refined driving performance, including standard equipment like six low-friction resin rollers and a rear skid bar. Furthermore, the adoption of an integrated monocoque structure enhances ease of assembly and maintenance. This makes it a versatile chassis suitable for everyone from beginners to veteran racers, and for a wide range of events—from small-scale street corner races to official competitions on large, specially constructed 5-lane circuits. Features a 4:1 gear ratio.
