DARUMA-Placode-Three-Ply-Col-5-4230
A thread made by twisting several strands of plastic fishing net material together. In the 1960s, a thread called “Pairy” (manufactured by Asahi Dow) was sold under that brand name. We repeatedly prototyped this thread in an attempt to recreate it. It is softer and easier to knit with than the “Material Cord” released in 2015. The 3-ply type is slightly finer, making it recommended for delicate expressions.
Just as natural materials have their merits, plastic materials possess their own unique advantages.
