DARUMA-Placode-Four-Ply-Col-101-4240
A yarn made by twisting several strands of plastic fishing net material together.
In the 1960s, a yarn called “Pairy” (manufactured by Asahi Dow) was sold under that brand name. We repeatedly prototyped this yarn in an effort to recreate it.
It is softer and easier to knit with than the “Material Cord” released in 2015.
The 4-ply is the thicker type, recommended when you want a sturdy knit fabric.
Just as natural materials have their merits, plastic materials have their own advantages.
