Product Description
Amebi Kannon is a renowned temple, the 24th station of the Bando Kannon Pilgrimage, said to have been founded in 587 by the naturalized Chinese monk Hōrin Dokushū Kōji. It enjoyed the deep devotion of Emperor Shōmu and Empress Kōmyō, and later became a Shingon Buddhist training ground under Kōbō Daishi.
Today, it is widely known as a sacred site for safe childbirth and child-rearing, enshrining the Life-Prolonging Kannon Bodhisattva (a nationally designated Important Cultural Property) as its principal image, making it one of the most prominent temples in the Kanto region.
It is also renowned as a famous flower spot where cherry blossoms, azaleas, peonies, hydrangeas, and others bloom, with the hydrangea season being particularly popular.
