Hobby Japan - Galaxy Trucker - 2-4 Players - Ages 8+ - Board Game
In Galaxy Trucker, players take on the role of hired spaceship drivers. To cut costs, they repurpose parts from sewage facilities (sewer pipes, plasma drills, hot water heaters, etc.) to assemble their spacecraft. They then race across a dangerous galaxy to deliver their spacecraft (and cargo) to the destination planet.
Ship construction happens in real-time, with all players simultaneously flipping and placing tiles from a shared pool. However, you might not find the parts you want, or another player could snatch them up. Also, be careful: if you rush construction and the joints aren't secure, parts will ruthlessly detach and float off into space. Once everyone has built their ship, you'll face various trials in sequence. Along the way, you'll load cargo on planets (if you have a cargo hold), shoot down meteor showers (if you have laser cannons), and repel pirates and smugglers (if your ship's components are destroyed, that section will be lost without mercy). Will you successfully deliver your cargo to the destination and earn your reward?
Features abundant additional and optional rules, such as alien crew members, more challenging adventures, and the “Galactic Crossing Flight” campaign mode.
