What matters is sharing (except victory).
Split is a draft card game of cooperation and reading your opponents.
In Split, players simultaneously choose one card from their hand and play it into a shared “zone” between the player to their right or left.
Cards consist of “Split Cards” marked with values and colors,
and “Objective Cards” indicating what combinations of cards in that zone earn points (or lose points).
After playing one card, all remaining cards in your hand are passed to the player on your left.
This means to effectively score points in each zone, you must choose which cards to play and which to keep, coordinating with your neighbor.
However, only one player can be the ultimate winner.
Final scores are determined by multiplying each player's right and left zone scores. So even if you score well in one zone, if the other zone scores zero, your total could end up being zero...
It's a case of one thing going well while another goes wrong. You must also pay close attention to the cards in the zone next to your neighbor's, making the decisions of which cards to play in which zone and which cards to pass to your left neighbor a bit of a dilemma.
The rules are simple, it's easy to play with up to 8 players simultaneously, and it's a card game that offers dynamic and strategic gameplay.
