Berry Fire 1/350 Imperial Japanese Navy Heavy Cruiser Kōgei 1944 Standard Edition Plastic Model BELBV350904\\ n\
Includes decals, photo-etched parts, and metal chain\
Kōgei was a heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy and the lead ship of the Kōgei-class heavy cruisers.\
Laid down at Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in April 1927, she was named Kōgei in June of the same year and launched in May 1930. \
Commissioned in May 1932, she was assigned to the Second Fleet, Fourth Squadron. \
At the outbreak of the Pacific War, she was engaged in Southern Operations, participating in the Second and Third Solomon Sea Battles in 1942. In 1943, she operated in the Central Pacific.\
After participating in the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June 1944 and the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October of the same year, she was moored in Singapore for repairs when she was sabotaged by a British special submarine. She remained moored there until the war's end. \
After the war, it was seized by the British Navy and scuttled in the Malacca Strait in 1946 alongside the Myōkō.\
