Nissen Cable Co., Ltd. - Ultra Light Brake Cable
Compared to conventional stainless steel shift outer cables, we've increased the thickness of the inner wire strands to enhance rigidity. By changing the coil material to aluminum alloy, we achieved an ultra-lightweight design weighing approximately half that of existing iron or stainless steel products. The weight per meter is about 27g. For a typical 2m installation, this product weighs 55g, less than half the 115g of a standard iron brake outer cable. During development, we referenced the vintage aluminum outer cables produced by the former French company CLB. The result is an ultra-lightweight brake outer cable with a vintage appearance that also delivers the same operability as modern brake outer cables. Despite its ultra-lightweight nature, it retains the convenience of using the same installation method as standard brake outer cables. Due to the material properties of aluminum alloy, it is softer than steel or stainless steel, resulting in lower durability and rigidity compared to standard outer cables. The lightness of the brake pull is unchanged from standard outer cables. We recommend using it in combination with the SP31 stainless steel inner cable. It also includes four specially designed lightweight aluminum outer caps. Colors: Clear, Clear Black, Laser Blue, Black, White
