Product Description
TACOM “1/350 German Army Flack Tower 1 Berlin Zoo Tower G Tower” Plastic Model Kit.
Flaktowers (anti-aircraft towers) were reinforced concrete high-rise air defense structures built by the German Air Force during World War II as urban air defense facilities to protect strategically important cities from Allied air raids.
Flaktowers consisted of the G-Tower, housing anti-aircraft guns, and the L-Tower, a command tower equipped with radar and anti-aircraft command systems. After the war, the armaments and various equipment were removed, and the dismantling and removal of the anti-aircraft towers themselves progressed. However, many still exist and have been repurposed for various uses. Flakturm 1 Berlin Zoo Tower: This first-generation anti-aircraft tower was constructed in Berlin in April 1941. It was called the Zoo Tower due to its location. It was destroyed by British forces at the end of the war.
