KATO N Gauge - JR Tokai Colors - 4-Car Set A-10-1709
Prototypes are the S12 formation (4-car set A), S18 formation (4-car set B), and S11 formation + S7 formation (special edition) assigned to the Ogaki Depot around 2010. \
Features a single orange band below the windows and gray underframe equipment. The 4-Car Set A has a KuHa 116 series 200 subseries car as the downbound lead car, while the 4-Car Set B has a KuHa 117 series 100 subseries car as the upbound lead car. The Special Edition features a formation with the downbound lead car being a KuHa 116 series 200 sub-series in revival colors and the upbound lead car being a KuHa 117 series 100 sub-series.\
Newly created KuHa 117 series 100 sub-series and KuHa 116 series 200 sub-series with single-step drop windows. The 0-series reinforcement cars, distinct from the Keihanshin region, lack the window pillar step and reproduce the exterior difference without canvas fasteners.\
The KuHa 117 0-series reproduces the exterior without side displays and equipped with a toilet.\
The special edition set features an 8-car combination in revival colors and JR Central colors. It allows reproduction of the mixed-color formation unique to JR Central. Special stickers are included. \
Dummy couplers are pre-installed on the leading cars. By swapping couplers, the 8-car formation seen in service with two sets coupled together can be recreated (the 8-car set comes with coupling parts pre-installed).\
The power car in the 4-car set does not have traction tires. The power car in the special edition set has traction tires.\
Head/tail lights on each leading car illuminate the front display (with an off switch). \
“New Rapid” front display is pre-installed. Replacement front displays for “Rapid,” “Section Rapid,” and “Local” are included. The 8-car set also includes one runner with 6 blank displays.\
The 4-car Set A and special edition come in an 8-car bookcase package, while the 4-car Set B comes in a 4-car paper box package. The 4-car Set B cars can be stored in the 4-car Set A bookcase. \
