Description
Tamiya Waterline Series No. 214 Plastic Model Kit 31214
Product Description
This plastic model assembly kit depicts the Zuikaku, the second ship of the Shōkaku-class aircraft carriers, completed in September 1941. As an ideal carrier boasting high speed, powerful anti-aircraft armament, and the capacity to carry over 80 aircraft, she fought until her sinking off Leyte in October 1944.
While the Shōkaku is reproduced in its wartime appearance, the Zuikaku model depicts her state during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the final engagement of the Imperial Japanese Navy's mobile fleet.
Her reinforced anti-aircraft armament—including machine guns, high-angle guns, and rocket launchers—conveys the intensity of late-war aerial combat.
Displaying it with a rich array of carrier aircraft on the deck, such as the Zero fighter Model 52, the Comet carrier-based bomber, and the reconnaissance aircraft Saiun, is also enjoyable. Finished length: 367mm.
