Tamiya Waterline Series No. 215 Plastic Model 31215
This is a 1/700 scale waterline model of the Shinano, the legendary aircraft carrier that vanished just 10 days after entering service.
The hull, differing in shape from the Yamato and Musashi, was newly designed. The molding on the hull sides is also precisely reproduced.
The hangar below the flight deck is also reproduced, allowing carrier aircraft to be stored inside. The two elevators at the bow and stern can be positioned in either the raised or lowered state. The bridge, the outwardly slanted funnels, and the steam exhaust pipes all feature a highly three-dimensional finish. Powerful anti-aircraft armaments, including the rocket-assisted launchers, are also reproduced with precise sculpting. The set includes 32 aircraft, such as the Ryusei. Since the canopy is a clear part, leaving it unpainted will give an even more realistic finish.
