The rhinoceros beetle, often called the king of insects, is famous and popular for its large horns.
In Japan, it inhabits broadleaf forests in mountainous and flat areas from Kyushu to Honshu.
It is nocturnal, feeding on tree sap at night and hiding during the day. They are known to fight over feeding grounds, using their horns to throw opponents. Generally, specimens exceeding 80mm in size are rarely seen in nature; smaller sizes are standard.
・The outer shell uses enclosed transparent molded parts.
・The wings differ from previous products, using transparent parts matching the body color. ・Some internal structural parts are milky white to harmonize with the external coloration. ・The product is modeled after rhinoceros beetles native to Japan. ・The size is slightly larger than naturally occurring individuals, approximating the maximum size achievable in captivity. ・The product contains two male specimens. ・Parts can be removed by hand without nippers, making it beginner-friendly (except for some transparent parts).
・Remains posable after assembly
The head, six legs, and front wings can be moved, allowing for various poses.
The rear wings are snap-on; attach them to recreate the flying posture.
・Realistic Sculpting
The characteristic horns use slide molding to achieve a realistic shape. The abdominal and leg textures are meticulously crafted to resemble the real thing.
・Includes display base for finished model
A display base (sloped display surface type) measuring approximately 10 x 7 cm is included for viewing the assembled model.
Unlike previous products, the display base is molded in black.
One nameplate-style sticker is included.
