Fujimi Model - Special Series - Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier - Unryu (As Completed - Special - 42) Includes new parts for the "Unryu-class No. 1 Unryu," which was planned to strengthen aircraft carrier power before the outbreak of the Pacific War. This product is an unpainted kit that requires assembly with glue and painting. The scale is 1/700, and the ship's bottom is not included. This product is constructed using the conventional (special series) mold and newly designed additional parts. Unryu was the first Unryu-class ship built at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal and commissioned in August 1949. The prewar Kai (5) Plan called for the addition of 15 ships. Unryu was the first, and 15 of those, including Amanagi and Katsuragi, would later become part of the second group. From the time of commissioning, the exterior was painted in submersible camouflage, and water jets were later added to the navigation fenders. Unlike Amagi and Katsuragi, the fuselage shape was simplified to shorten production time. Due to its rounded shape, a traditional Japanese aircraft design, the aircraft remained unsatisfactory even after commissioning, and it remained in nearby waters.
