HobbyJAPAN - Cinema Popcorn - Ages 10+ - Board Game
In “Cinema Popcorn,” players aim to attract customers to their movie theater, show them their desired films, and satisfy them to earn more popcorn.
Each round, draw a pawn from your bag to represent a customer arriving at your theater. Place them in the seats of the theater set up with your movie on your theater board.
Movies and patrons have colors: movies indicate their genre (comedy, sci-fi, etc.), while patrons indicate their preferred genre.
If a placed patron matches the color of the set movie, you can perform the action shown on that movie.
Seats also have colors; if a placed patron matches the seat's color, you can perform the action shown on that seat. However, a movie's popularity fades over time after its initial screening, reducing the available actions each round. Eventually, no actions remain, so replace it with a new movie when you feel the time is right.
Actions include earning $ needed to buy new movies or upgrade theaters, increasing popularity to draw more customers from the bag, placing ad tokens to adjust the customers in the bag, and acquiring popcorn that leads to victory. Carefully consider the actions available for each movie and upgrade your theater to match. Advertising tokens you've placed can also be used at this time. Add the desired color of customers to your bag to enable more actions. Progress through the game this way. After the final scoring, the player with the most popcorn in their bucket wins.
