Welcome to Carnuta, the once-a-year Druid ritual.
Thank you for coming all the way from far away lands.
In accordance with tradition, we will hold a potion-making competition to choose the most talented Druid this year.
Now, prepare your sickles... The competition begins.
In "Carnuta", players play over several turns.
The objective of the game is to play cards in front of you to make potions.
On the board, 4 daytime materials (clover, flower, egg, honey) and 4 nighttime materials (skull, butterfly, nut, mushroom) which are the basis of potions are lined up.
During your turn, players perform 2 actions, either the same or different, out of 4 actions: "gain 1 card" from the board to your hand, "play 1 card" from your hand by paying the cost, "gain runes" which are the cost, or "flip runes" so that your runes have the same design.
Runes are dual-sided with "Moon" and "Sun", and daytime cards pay costs with the sun, while nighttime cards pay costs with the moon.
Paying costs causes your runes to be turned face down or returned to the board, requiring strategy to secure costs for subsequent card plays.
The game ends when a player plays their 11th card in front of them.
The player who optimizes the combinations of 8 types of materials and scores the highest points will win the game.
"Carnuta" is a set collection card game with an original cost-paying mechanic when playing cards.
