FineMold 1/350 Warship Series Imperial Japanese Navy Destroyer Sagiri Plastic Model FW5
The Special Type Destroyer (Fubuki-class) was developed to strengthen auxiliary vessels, which were not subject to restrictions under the Washington Naval Treaty.
This Sagiri belongs to the Special Type II destroyers, including the Ayane, within the Special Type destroyer class.
Commissioned in 1931 (Showa 6), Sagiri fought valiantly in escort duties during the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Malaya Campaign, but her military fortune was poor. She became the first Special Type II destroyer lost during the war.
The kit reproduces her pre-war appearance with the ship's name written in katakana on the hull.
