Product Description
Amory “1/48 Royal Navy Fairey Flycatcher Carrier Fighter Late Model” Plastic Model Kit.
Adopted in 1923, the Flycatcher was a revolutionary aircraft for its time.
To meet the short takeoff and landing requirements for carrier operations, large flaps were fitted to both upper and lower wings.
The landing gear could be converted to floats, and the outer wings could be easily removed for compact storage.
It also had good maneuverability; the late model, powered by a Jaguar 4 engine, could reach 213 km/h.
Well-regarded by its pilots, it remained in service with the Naval Air Service until 1934.
Includes etching parts and resin parts.
Choose from 6 different markings. Naval aircraft of this period featured striking paint schemes with colorful unit markings on a silver dope base.
