Product Introduction
The Imperial Japanese Navy Series “High-Speed Battleship Haruna” arrives in its appearance during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944.\ Following the previously released 1/700 scale Haruna from the Battle of the Marianas, this model recreates her final desperate battle at the start of the Philippine Campaign.
She underwent two refits to enhance her combat capabilities before the Pacific War.
Among the battleships, the swift Haruna excelled in diverse roles: escorting the Mobile Fleet and conducting naval bombardments of enemy airfields. She entered the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the Imperial Japanese Navy's final decisive engagement, equipped with numerous anti-aircraft guns.
She later served as an anti-aircraft battery in inland waters. In July 1945, she was severely damaged and grounded by an attack from U.S. carrier-based aircraft outside Kure Harbor, ending her career.
This product features a full-hull specification, allowing reproduction down to the keel, and includes a display stand for enjoyment after completion.
