Pit Road 1/700 Skywave Series Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Aegis Destroyer DDG-179 Maya Plastic Model Kit J97
DDG-179 Maya entered service in March 2020 as the third-generation Aegis destroyer for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
Equipped with the latest ballistic missile defense capability (BMD5.1) and the newest Aegis system, it also features the JMSDF's first CETPS (Common Engagement Tasking and Processing System). Compared to previous Aegis ships, its capabilities have evolved dramatically.
Its stealth-enhanced hull design makes it the largest destroyer in the fleet, excluding the helicopter-carrying Hyūga-class and Izumo-class ships.
Originally commissioned with conventional paint, Maya later received low-visibility camouflage for enhanced stealth.
