PLUM-Plakit-Extra - JR East 209 Series - Display Model - PP179 This plastic kit is part of PLUM's innovative and newly planned "Plakit-Extra" series, featuring the "209 Series Commuter Train," a next-generation energy-efficient train representing the 1990s in the Tokyo metropolitan area. While maintaining the impressive quality of 1/80 scale models, the "Plakit-Extra" series is designed to be more user-friendly, with simplified painting, simplified assembly, and easy power installation. The "line color" design, a distinctive feature of stainless steel railcars, is achieved by using separate parts for the colored sections, ensuring a realistic finish without painting. The Saha 208 features the streamlined underfloor equipment unique to trailer cars and the absence of through doors, just like the full-size train, all in an easy-to-assemble configuration. The Saha 208 features the distinctive six doors on each side, designed to accommodate the increasingly intense rush-hour commutes in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and the window between the doors is recreated to show whether it's fixed or openable. The SaHa 208's cooler is a completely new mold, AU722A. The bogies feature wavy wheels that look great on display, and Tenshodo's running parts allow for 16-gauge (HO) running. Decals featuring destination signs and more are included. This production run also includes seat parts as an extra bonus. This kit includes one SaHa 208 (Keihin-Tohoku color) kit. Collect one KuHa set, two MoHa sets, one SaHa 208, and three SaHa 209 cars to create a full 10-car formation. Combine with the separately sold lead car and middle car sets. This kit cannot be run on its own. For running, we recommend Tenshodo No. 05002 Coreless Power Truck 26P (φ10.5mm plate wheels) and Tenshodo No. 69001 T-Evolution Running Parts Kit.
