Product Description
The F-4EJ Phantom II is an interceptor fighter adopted by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, based on the American-developed F-4E. It is designed to intercept enemy aircraft during scrambles and other operations.
Due to Japan's national circumstances at the time, the bombing control equipment and aerial refueling equipment were removed.
Otherwise, it is nearly identical to the US military's F-4E variant.
Production of the F-4EJ later shifted to Japan, with the final production aircraft becoming the ultimate Phantom model overall.
(Total Phantom production: 5,195 units) The F-4EJ was deployed to bases across Japan. Due to aging, some were modified into the F-4EJ Kai and the reconnaissance variant RF-4EJ.
