Imperial Japanese Navy Series - No. 47 - Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship - Showa 19 (1944) - Full Hull Model

Product Introduction
The Imperial Japanese Navy Series “Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship Musashi” arrives in its appearance during Operation Shō-1 (Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944.
The battleship Musashi was the second ship of the Yamato-class, the final battleship type designed and built by the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was completed at the Kure Naval Arsenal in August 1942, the year after the war began.
Equipped with nine 46-cm guns, the largest in the world, and displacing 64,000 tons, she was an unprecedented warship.
She was assigned to the Combined Fleet on the day of her completion. As aircraft increasingly became the dominant force, Musashi underwent modifications to enhance its anti-aircraft armament. She participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
In October 1944, after the American landing in the Philippines, Musashi joined the Combined Fleet's full strength, including Yamato and Nagato, for Operation Shō-Ichi-Gō (the Battle of Leyte Gulf). She was sunk in the Sibuyan Sea by air attacks.
This product models the ship's appearance during Operation Shō-1 (the Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944.
It depicts the configuration after two secondary guns were removed to add reinforced high-angle gun compartments, though the guns themselves were not delivered in time, so machine guns were installed instead.
The rear mast features the Type 13 radar, representing Musashi's final configuration.
The product features a full-hull specification allowing reproduction down to the keel, and includes a display stand for enjoyment after completion.
Two types of carrier-based seaplanes are included: the Zero Observation Seaplane and the Zero (Three-Seat) Seaplane Reconnaissance, with two of each type.
Included decals feature three types: the Imperial Japanese Navy ensign, the Rising Sun flag, and carrier aircraft markings.
Both the traditional one-piece 25mm twin machine gun parts and more precise two-piece parts are included.
The 25mm machine guns use a two-piece construction, allowing easy separation of the gunmetal barrel and hull-colored base for painting.
