Description
Micro Ace - Great War Aircraft Series - Imperial Japanese Navy - Nakajima A6M2-N - Plastic Model Kit
Micro Ace “1/72 Scale Great War Aircraft Series Imperial Japanese Navy Fighter Nakajima A6M2-N Type 2 Seaplane Fighter” Plastic Model Kit. The Navy planned to convert the Zero fighter into a seaplane fighter as a method to reliably put high-performance seaplane fighters into practical use within a short timeframe. In early 1941, they ordered Nakajima to develop a prototype for this conversion. The first prototype was completed in the remarkably short time of about 11 months. The engine, propeller, armament, and internal fuel tank capacity and layout were identical to the Zero Model 11.
Performance characteristics such as maximum speed, service ceiling, and range were reduced due to the seaplane conversion, but the differences were not significant.
Maneuverability was naturally somewhat reduced due to the floatant, but inheriting the Zero's excellent agility, it remained highly maneuverable despite being a seaplane.
※This product is a plastic model kit requiring assembly and painting.
※Additional items such as adhesive, tools, and paint are required for assembly and painting.
