Product Description
This is Yamashita Hobby's “1/700 Warship Model Series Special Type Destroyer II Amagiri 1943” plastic model.
The destroyer Amagiri is famous for an episode in the late hours of August 2, 1943, when it collided with and sank PT 109, a torpedo boat carrying future U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
The kit accurately reproduces the anti-aircraft armament of the mid-war period Mist-class destroyers, including the additional 13mm machine gun mount installed forward of the bridge and the two additional twin 25mm machine gun mounts installed forward of the aft funnel.
Modifications include changes to the deck rails and the shape of the bridge base.
