Yamashita Hobby 1/700 Warship Model Series Imperial Japanese Navy Destroyer Fumizuki SP Plastic Model NVE8
In February 1943, with prospects for victory in the six-month-long Battle of Guadalcanal showing no improvement, the Japanese military decided to withdraw from Guadalcanal Island.
The withdrawal operation was conducted in strict secrecy, and the “Fumizuki” was assigned to this mission.
She participated carrying medium cargo boats to transport troops.
The operation succeeded, and she was deployed in several subsequent withdrawal operations, successfully evacuating a total of 10,000 Army soldiers throughout the entire withdrawal campaign.
Recreates the destroyer Fumizuki during the Guadalcanal withdrawal operation.
Included etching parts comprise the derrick required for equipping the medium cargo boat, along with other boat davits and masts.
