Yamashita Hobby 1/700 Warship Model Series Imperial Japanese Navy High-Speed Transport Destroyer Mikazuki SP Plastic Model NVE9
Leveraging their lightning-fast speed, the Mutsuki-class destroyers were deployed for supply operations to the islands of the Pacific. The space vacated by removing the rear torpedo tubes was filled with drums and wooden crates packed with supplies. To further increase transport capacity, they also carried medium cargo boats. While no photographs or records show them loaded with medium cargo boats, this configuration is inferred from operational photos of ships like the Minegatake-class.
